ABOUT

Mission Statement

Burma Relief is a New York City-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) humanitarian relief organization dedicated to empowering Burmese refugees to create sustainable and thriving communities through educational, medical and infrastructural development.

The Burma Relief is a coalition of human rights and relief organizations providing aid and succor to both indigenous Burmese and refugees, such as the orphanage in Mae Sot, Thailand.

The Burma Relief bears witness to the long misrule of the Burmese government and its abuses and violence against its own people.

Through activism, debate, and fund raising, Burma Relief promotes democracy in Burma and an end to the persecution of its peoples.

Burma Relief partners with numerous organizations that support its mission. These include Mae Tao Clinic, National Council of the Union of Burma, Heroes Serving Humanity, National League for Democracy-Liberated Area, Burma Point, Backpack Health Workers Team, Burma Global Action Network, and Amnesty International USA.
